Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenWhen he was 27, he enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark and was graduated in the year 1995. In addition to his performance as the lead actor in The Killing and lead actor, he was also a part of two other internationally acclaimed Danish drama series: Those Who Kill, and Borgen III. He also played in episodes of the BBC drama Sherlock as Charles Augustus Magnussen (blackmailer). He played the role of the Russian president in the American television series House of Cards. He received an International Emmy Award for 2018 for his performance on the Danish drama on television Herrens Veje. It was shown in the UK in 2019 under the name Ride Upon the Storm. In addition to his native Danish, Mikkelsen speaks fluent Swedish, German and English and has also mastered diverse accents. He has claimed that he and his brother first began to learn English by listening to Monty Python records and learning the comedy sketches
