Awkwafina
Awkwafina An American actor and singer, began with a series of rap songs that dealt with issues of sexual and race. Her fame grew into Hollywood after she released an album of raps. Born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrant parents within Forest Hills Queens her first experience with music came in the form of the trumpet. Alongside classical music and jazz, the young Nora started studying hip-hop when she was in her teens. While in the school, she focused on the field of journalism as well as women's studies. She also studied Mandarin for a while in Beijing. The focus changed to music only after she completed her degree. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success on the Internet before settling on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. This album also featured popular hits that went viral, such as body positive Queef or winking hometown tour New York Bitche$. The track that was the last one to be closely linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was released in the year 2015. She decided to pursue acting careers after having completed her two previous projects, as an author and musician. Alongside early shows such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films like Neighbors to Storks. In the year 2018 she scored a number of notable roles that were a breakthrough, like Dude Ocean's 8, or Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she released her first film In Fina We Trust.
