Rihanna has emerged as one of the music's top performers. Born in Barbados her family listened to reggae music, and began singing while she was young. As a way to get away from the tensions within her family, as well as her parents' constant fights, she started singing. When she was a teenager, she joined a musical group. Evan Rodgers auditioned her and was awestruck. He asked the girl to move into New York in order to take on a full-time job as a singer which she gladly did. Rihanna made her debut album, and was an overnight star. her sultry foot-tapping tracks became the hot favorites of young people, causing Rihanna to make films too. She is a young, talented woman who has become an icon of fashion and teen icon. Rihanna also puts her fame to good use, and has been active in many charity causes.
